The Eurasia Center’s New Program on China

The Eurasia Center has a reputation for its thought-provoking lecture series and roundtable discussions that focus on issues relating to modern China. Our previous topics have included, security, sustainable economic development, trade, foreign direct investment, social capital, human development, the region post World War II, population growth, the effects of China's foreign policies, the environment, and the de-centering of the West and increasing importance of China as a political and economic force. These events foster greater understanding of East Asia as a historical entity and as a current locus of international influence.

The Eurasia Center also has an internship program involving bringing interns from China and engaging American students to do research on China. We are also planning to host cultural events on China as well.

Given the historic Summit between President Barrack Obama and President Hu Jintao on January 19, 2011, the US and China found many areas to cooperate and also areas to seek solutions to issues involving their relations. (Please watch the Eurasia Center/EBC's China Director Ralph Winnie, Jr. interviewed on Chinese Television CCTV. See link below.)
