Russia
Russia is the largest country in Eurasia, spanning 17,125,191 square kilometers across both Europe and Asia. It borders sixteen countries and encompasses eleven different time zones, making it the largest country in the world by landmass. Civilization in this region emerged around the 5th century AD, later developing into powerful empires such as the Russian Empire. Due to its vast size, Russia is home to a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds and religions. The most dominant religion is Russian Orthodoxy, a form of Christianity. Major ethnic groups include Russians, Tatars, and Chechens.
During the Cold War era, when Russia made up of section of the Soviet Union, Russia achieved significant milestones in space exploration, including launching the first satellite and the first human into space. Throughout its long and turbulent history, notable leaders like Catherine the Great, Vladimir Lenin, and Joseph Stalin have shaped the nation's trajectory. Today, Russia is considered one of the world's more powerful countries. Its current leader, Vladimir Putin, aims to advance Russia as a modern world superpower despite the fact that he began a war of aggression against Ukraine thus united other countries to join NATO while Putin depends new alliances with North Korea, Iran, Belarus, and China to continue the war with Ukraine.
