The Eurasia Center promotes international education as the main staple of understanding and building better relations between America and Europe and Asia. For over 25 years, the Eurasia Center’s scholars have been conducting research on Eurasia. Many of our scholars and interns come from America, Europe and Asia, as well as Africa and Australia. Interns are trained in researching and writing on the new political, economic and social trends and developments occurring in Eurasia. This public education is important for America as well as for the rest of the world in order to understand how our nations and its citizenry are affected by important issues between the United States and Eurasia.

The Eurasia Center’s Program for International Education involves all who seek to promote positive relations between nations and peoples. Naturally, this seems like a lofty goal, but as optimists, Eurasia Center specialists rise to the important challenges present in our world. Education is an important area that is crucial in solving world problems not just for our generation but also for generations to come. The Eurasia Center website is visited by thousands and thousands of people, many of whom are officials, scientists, citizens, and students from around the world. Our mission is to educate and inform them that each of us can truly build a better world.

Central to our mission are new training programs that are being developed to educate university-level, professional-level, and governmental-level participants. These new programs will explore new areas of political, economic, business and infrastructure development, as well as areas where cross-cultural university collaboration can result in positive projects. The Eurasia Center’s Freedom Computer Network will play an ever present role in this new initiative.

The Eurasia Center Scholarship Fund

Many students cannot afford to continue their education in universities in Russia, Ukraine and other parts of Eurasia. The Eurasia Center has a program to help talented, underprivileged scholars who want to learn but lack the funds to do so. The Eurasia Center created such a scholarship for the East Ukrainian National University in Lugansk, Ukraine. A writing competition was created with one of the top professors at the University to select a topic on international affairs for students to write about. The winners of the competition used the prize money to further their education at the University. Out of 46 students that submitted papers for the competition, three scholars were chosen as and awarded various amounts of scholarship stipends. This Eurasia Center scholarship program was a citizen-to-citizen based initiative. It also involved institutes of higher learning, which are finding it more difficult to help their brightest scholars to support themselves through their programs of study.

You can also interact at such a personal level and actively select students and evaluate their credentials by becoming involved with the Eurasia Center's Scholarship Fund. Philanthropy can be fun and exciting. Your donation can be made in your name or the name of a loved one in remembrance. The scholarship and its results will appear on the Eurasia Center website and be published in the Eurasia Center’s Journal.

Many charitable organizations do not allow the donor to make decisions on how contributions are spent or how a scholarship is designed. However, the Eurasia Center will allow you to make these decisions. You can choose a country in Europe or Asia (Eurasia) and the field of study where your money will go to help students in need. Education is one of the top priorities in terms of bringing positive relations to the new generations developing within these societies. Getting positive support from Americans is essential toward developing new and long lasting relationships with these countries. The amount of the scholarships or support can be as small or as large as you feel comfortable with. It may reach many aspiring scholars.

The Eurasia Center has been a source of research, analysis, and writing on the nations of Eurasia for over 25 years and looks forward to continued support from governments, foundations, corporate and private donations, as well as grassroots support.

The Eurasia Center’s International Education Program: New Avenues in International Education

Today a significant part of academic success is introducing internationalization or globalization topics within the educational curricula to provide true support of University goals to build a strong intercultural competency and understanding within the student body.

The University’s role is to nurture and fully support an intercultural community on campus by teaching students to become well-rounded individuals within a global society. Universities must respond to needs of students, faculty and their communities such that each has the ability to learn study and thrive in the interconnected global environment of the 21st century.

Having a skilled and globally focused workforce is perhaps the most important element to any organization competitiveness in a world. More than ever, possessing knowledge and having the ability to use such knowledge in a global arena is crucial to professional and scholastic development. New types and levels of higher education are emerging as students are able to take advantage of more global interactions, whether through study abroad programs or exchange of ideas and knowledge through the internet.

As this teaching environment and students’ interests are rapidly evolving, academic curricula needs to focus more on interdisciplinary global programs. Eurasian universities as well as the US universities are faced with many new vistas. Global learning can be not only an interesting doorway to the future but also bring successful outcomes for academic institutions of high learning.

The Eurasia Center’s International Education Program promotes new avenues in international education by promoting new programs for teaching and research prowess. In so doing, our Program offers a significant key to making academic institutions viable in the 21st Century.

A global multicultural focus within educational programs, integration of classroom learning with real-world experiences, utilization of innovative scientific and technological methodologies and interdisciplinary attitude are important keys to success. The combination of these approaches will demonstrate the progression of Liberal Arts education and build a world class learning environment at any University, broaden students’ horizons and boost their employment and career opportunities.

By supporting globalization in education, the Eurasia Center operates as an academic Global Ambassador, a liaison, and education exchange facilitator to bringing together Eurasian and US academic institutions and professional agencies.

The Eurasian Center’s Program for International Education is as follows:

Designing and delivering Executive Professional Training Programs “On The Leading Edge”, organized as a set of professional seminars and work-on sessions between Eurasian and US universities, professional organizations, corporations, and governmental agencies;

Organizing students short-term Global Exchange Programs focusing on current emerging disciplines/topics (between top academic US and Eurasian Universities);

Designing and facilitating two-, tri-partnership Global Degrees academic programs (based on established partnership between the US + West European + Eurasian Universities and academic Centers). Our Program also involves corporations and agencies for finalized practical internships and business outreach;

Initiating international exchange of top Academic Scholars to promote collaborative Global Research and joint teaching, also, arranging open lectures, curriculum consulting and development, setting up international conferences of mutual interest.
